Fire Cider
February 28, 2022
I strained the fire cider today that I made in January. We needed it ready so it didn't get to sit as long as I would like. I used what I had on hand, cut it up, and put it in a large 64 oz Ball jar. It sat in my laundry room which stays dark without a window for about 4 weeks. It was my first time making it and straining so I just poured it out through a strainer into a bowl then poured it back into a quart mason jar and stored it in the fridge.
From what I remember this is what I threw into the jar.
Orange sliced
lemon sliced
Black Peppercorns
Garlic cloves
Ginger
Onion chopped
Jalapeno
After strained add honey to taste.
I should have strained it again through a cheesecloth to remove more sediment. The family took it but didn't like it very much.
